Friends of Captain Awkward

Hello everyone, I am new here. I've been lurking over at the CA site for about one month (most of that time being spent reading archives). During my reading, I've seen CA recommend various books to her audience. I have purchased "Gift of Fear" and "Gentle Art of Verbal Self Defense."

My question is: Is there a pinned thread of recommended reading from CA? If there is such a thread, could someone direct me to it? I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the topics.

My suggestion is: If there is not, could there be?
